The Casa Histórica de la Independencia is a museum located in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, that was the site of the signing of the Argentine Declaration of Independence on July 9, 1816. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 6pm. The entrance fee is ARS 150 (approximately USD 2). The official website is www.casahistorica.gob.ar (available only in Spanish).
In the surroundings of the Casa Histórica de la Independencia, visitors can find the Plaza Independencia, a beautiful park that surrounds the museum, and the Catedral de Tucumán, located just a few blocks away. The cathedral is open every day from 7am to 12pm and from 5pm to 9pm. Another interesting place to visit is the Museo de la Industria Azucarera, located 20 minutes away by car from the Casa Histórica de la Independencia. The museum is open Monday to Friday, from 8am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. The entrance fee is ARS 50 (approximately USD 0.70).
